Red Army

The Red Army was first formed prior to the Shturmovik Revolution and started as a loose collection of militias that came together under a shared name and cause. In the early days the Red Army was simply a social group that provided largely symbolic security.

Post revolution

The Red Army is the largest fighting force in the galaxy. It is not part of the regular military but rather it is under the "control" of the Shturmovik Party. The army is also decentralized and consists of millions of militias that range in size from squad to platoon strength, though some are much larger and there are loners who describe themselves as part of the Red Army. There are two types of militias that are organized and unorganized. Organized militias operate under the authority of Red Army commissars who are part of the NKOB.
