Mobile pod trucks were built and used by the early Shturmovik Party. Each truck contained approximately 10 living pods with a kitchen, two bathrooms and living space. Trucks almost always traveled in convoys that would form semi permanent autonomous zones where everyone was represented in the local government. The mobile nature of the trucks was used when tsarist authorities discovered their location. Convoys usually had specialized trucks with them. One type of truck was used for setting up cricket farms that the early revolutionaries used as a source of food.
