PKVD

The Commissariat for Internal Affairs (КБД in Russian and КИА in Latin Nemonics) is the military police formation of the Red Army. It also has the civilian role of providing oversight for police departments and its commissars act as social workers to accompany the police. In the civilian role they are considered social workers or commissars and not officers, which reduces the number of police impersonators who join them. As social workers they have the authority to arrest police officers who they believe act in an unnecessary manner. They are allowed to be armed for dealing with any police officer who resists arrest or when responding to mental health disturbances, which the Shturmovik Party encourages police departments to delegate to the KVD. Social workers of the KVD have the authority to perform law enforcement actions when necessary although it is discouraged to weed out police impersonators.
